La Duchesse
The 106' houseboat La Duchesse brings the gracious River lifestyle of one hundred years ago to life. Built in 1903 for millionaire hotelier George Boldt, manager of New York City's Waldorf-Astoria hotel, the houseboat has been in continous use as an elegant summer residence ever since. Generously donated by the McNally family, of Wellesley Island, NY and Chicago, IL, she opened for visitors at the Antique Boat Museum in July of 2005.

Kitchen.

Living quarters for the staff.

Linens.

The dining room on the main floor.

Guest accommodations.

Master bedroom on second level.

Master bath.

Parlor on second level.
The stained glass ceiling in the parlor.

My favorite part of the houseboat is the porch.
When the breeze is blowing through the screens it feels so good on a hot summer day. How wonderful it must have been to sit on this porch sipping a cool drink and watching life on the St. Lawrence River.
